I wanted to thank you all for the wonderful experience I have had with Charter Day School! I had the honor of beginning my administrative career with CDS over 3 years ago as a UNCW Principal Intern, and have been afforded many wonderful experiences during my time here. Recently, I have been given the opportunity to become the new principal of D.C. Virgo Middle School in New Hanover County. I have learned so much during my tenure as Assistant Headmaster and Middle School Director, and I have had the opportunity to work with some of best teachers and staff members an administrator could ask for. Most importantly, my career at CDS has allowed me to meet an amazing group of students and supportive families. You and the outstanding teachers and staff make CDS a wonderful and successful place for your children to learn and grow.
I will remain in my current position until May. In the meantime, Headmaster Jennifer Beamer and I will be training Geoff Gorski to assume the role of Interim Middle School Director. To make this transition smooth for the students, Mr. Gorski will collaborate with a cooperating teacher to ensure his science classes’ success for the last few weeks of school. Over the past 3 years, Mr. Gorski has been critical to the success of the CDS Middle School as a math and science teacher, and we are confident he will do a great job as the Interim Middle School Director.
Mrs. Beamer and I will be happy to answer any questions you may have regarding this transition process to ensure your child gets the best opportunity for a successful finish to their school year.
Warmest regards,
Eric Irizarry
