Charter Day School Student Wins Second Place in County Art Contest!

Charter Day School student Lily Lopez won second place amongst all 3-5 grade students in a Brunswick County art contest. The contest, entitled “Blueprint Brunswick 2040,” challenged students to create a piece of art envisioning Brunswick County in the year 2040. It was part of a larger “Blueprint Brunswick” initiative to create plans to “guide future growth, decisions, and investments in infrastructure and services within Brunswick County.”

Lily Lopez commented, “I am so excited! I based my artwork off what I think my neighborhood will be like in the future. It took a week for me to finish! I am super thankful for all the great art lessons we have received at Charter Day School. They really helped! I also love the art supplies I won!”

Charter Day School is one of four public charter schools managed by The Roger Bacon Academy, Inc. founded in 1999 by education pioneer Baker Mitchell. The other schools include Douglass Academy in Wilmington, Columbus Charter School in Whiteville, and South Brunswick Charter School in Southport with a combined enrollment of over 2,100 students in K-8. All four are tuition-free, charter schools that welcome all students, regardless of income, ability, or address.  To learn more or enroll online, please visit EnrollRBA.com
